I’ve spent hours wondering about the thought process that ultimately produced this. It’s starts off so promising, derails just ten words in and finishes as a pile of charred wreckage 11 words later.  In a way it’s a perfectly written Haiku about bad advertising.

I wonder if this house would qualify as a Historic Place.

 

Saw this in Soho today.  I wonder how many times people knocked at the door before the owners felt they needed to go out and a get a special sign. I also wonder how the conversation went between the owners and the guy that actually engraved it – because I’m pretty sure it’s not one you can just buy off the shelf at the local hardware store. Must be weird when your mum comes to visit too.
